Very tidy, is the plan to sell these or is it just a build for yourself? |

I'm designing shoulderlamp parts too (the arm and the lamp). Your example show me how to do things good. Sharing is the best way. How many days did you spend designing the base parts?. |

Tidy very tidy. Makes you wonder what possessed them to use stuff like that in the first place, or why they had a ton of them lying about |

They probably just went... We need a handle for a lamp.. Here's a lamp with a handle, that'll do! Oh, we need a lamp.. Oh look, here's one. How can we join them together? You know what... That key box on the door on the way in! That looks cool... |

nice find, I'm interested in see what you come up with for the arm as its the weak link, I have had to repair mine twice! they used items that were probably in abundance and cheap when the film was being made, my mate Jim is a prop maker now, he has worked on a lot of the newer sci fi movies and they always use what is cheap and availiable just in case they have to knock up a lot due to damage |

Yeah, definitely. It'll be off some camera stand, or light bracket or some such. As for the bracket... I'm going to experiment with a few different resins and fillers. I've set my 'resin man' on the case to find a really hard and durable resin compound. And possibly going with a hard shore 95D PU style rubber. So if it does drop, it won't break. Yet it will still retain detail rigidity. (Still working on that bit...). |
