The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

We hope to go to DCon09 - can a hotel room be booked and if we can't make it, be cancelled without penalty? I guess the crunch decision time will be when the flight booking happens?

Cheers,
Karyn

I know the Hilton requires 72hrs notice for cancellation. Not positive about the Marriott or Hyatt but I'm sure it would be similar.

I have block booked the UKCM rooms in the Marriott. We should have plenty of rooms for everyone, but if anyone has any specific requirements for a private room please let me know ASAP so I can adjust the booking as needed. Note that private rooms will incur greater cost per person.

At the moment, Andy and Karyn, and Jon and Sarah have private rooms with Kingsized beds.

At this point, I was only able to book the rooms for Thursday 3rd September through to Monday 8th September. I will endeavour to extend this to arriving on the Wednesday.

The Marriott D*Con rate is $170 per room, per night, plus 15% tax.

Oh, and Mike, you can't count! We're men (and women), not numbers, but if you're gonna number us, get it right!!

I better phone BA and tell them to stockpile Jack Daniels and other assorted beverages for our flight! :D

In fact, if we get up to a group of 30 people, we can start thinking about chartering a jet! ;) ;) What is the maximum JD payload of a business jet? ;)

I just spoke to Terry English and he's keen to join us this year at D*Con. :)

I'll get him registered if I can as he doesn't have a computer.

Wowzers!

I guess you have considered trying to get him organised as a guest? That would get him a free ticket plus ....

Should I attempt to book another room? If everyone on the readyline currently goes, the UKCM rooms are at 93% of their official capacity. Of course, "official" room capacity and actual capacity are different things!
