The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Just been asked by the guys that organise the Pyramids show if we would be interested in attending another 1 day event on Saturday 13th December. This time the venue will be Bitterne Leisure Centre, Southampton, just off the M27.

They are very keen for us to attend but I did say that we have had a lot of shows recently but that I would ask anyway.

That said, this would be a good opportunity for a Christmas get together as well. This is something that has been mentioned but that did not necessarily need to be tied in with a show as well. Perhaps we could do this on the Friday night or the Saturday after the show and go home on the Sunday. I know I can't make the Scotland do so this would be good for those of us Southerners that can't make it up there.

Anyway, if anyone can attend the event then copy and paste your name down here.

If the Christmas meal can be on the Friday night (PRETTY PLEASE)... not 100% sure I can get out of a booked event on Sat night... if I can we can do both nights, as is my rep for being disruptive and drunk

I should be able to make it. It's Bri's birthday a few days before and we were talking about going out for a meal but nothing's set in stone yet.

Bugger! I won't be making this one after all. Just realised that Babs has a Christmas Party to go to that day.

Might be able to pop along for a couple of drinks on the Friday though is everyone is meeting up then.

I know some other people are considering it.

The question at the moment is wether to have the Xmas meal on the Friday or Saturday night. A couple of people would prefer it on the Friday and others have leaned towards the Saturday. I guess we need to take a vote on it.

Also, will people be staying the Friday AND Saturday night or just one or the other? I guess if the meal is on the Saturday then people will need to stay that night but possibly also the Friday as otherwise you would need to leave very early in the morning to get to the show.
Also, if the meal is on the Friday night then chances are that people are not going to want to get up early on the Saturday for the show.

Let's have some votes on which night to have the meal

I vote for Saturday as I think people will be too hung over otherwise and also it will be nice to have the show out of the way and then celebrate afterwards.

Cheers

Darren

Glad to hear it Vicky. I haven't looked into where to eat yet or anything but I figure since the hotel is near the centre of Southampton there should be plenty of choice.

Cheers

I would vote for Saturday for the reasons Darren mentioned,
but will go with Friday if G and I need to head back on Saturday night.

In which case we'll get back to you asap Darren, because we don't know how many nights to book at this stage.

Hi All,

Andy and I can make the meal if its on the Staurday night.

We have booked all our leave days this year so can't take time off to travel up in time for a Friday evening meal.

Andy might have to work on Saturday morning, so we won't be able to make the drop. But can come up in the afternoon if the meal is in the evening.

So our vote is Satuday night. :)

Cheers,
Karyn

You sure you can't get Saturday night off Baz? It doesn't really affect me but I know a lot of the folks will be hard-pressed to get there on Friday night in time for the meal etc.

Then again Gareth is working on Sunday. It's a tricky one.

I'm working on getting the day off.

Yup, Abe said that I had to get the day off. Will I have to send him round to your place, Baz?
