The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I'm not going to be able to afford my flights for a couple of months so, either way, the price will have gone up by the time I buy my ticket anyway. I like flying BA and I've never flown with Delta so don't have an opinion as far as they go, but happy to go with the majority view.

I'm quite happy to go delta, I did last year and it was fine. I have a mate who is definitely up for coming too.

Loved the journey last year... I'm OK with sticking to that plan!
But I'll go with the majority, as I'd prefer not to see the group split.

Well.... as you can all see I have not committed to this year yet even though it is the most important year to go! For various reasons my financial situation has nose-dived over the past few months but I am still in the game!

I WILL BE THERE THIS YEAR! I am going to do everything possible to go, and have already made many changes to help make this happen, unfortunatly I am just going to have to wait until probably the last minute to get my ticket.. Expensive I know but that is the way it has to roll this year.

Now to the point in hand... I had a good chat with G and many a cider with Munkey last night and the facts are these. You all have two choices, BA from Heathrow or Delta from Gatwick, the latter being £45 cheaper. Gareth wants to stick with BA as 1. It’s a damn site more convenient for him and 2. It is tried and tested and works... agreed the BA service has declined over the past few years but it is still good.

If I had to choose now I would go BA, when I do have to choose I will choose BA. If you want to go Delta that is fine... it will split the group but that is no problem, hell I believe the flights actually land in Atlanta within a couple of hours of each other.

So in conclusion... G will be going on BA, join him if you like but if you want to fly Delta and save £45, meet him and me ("positive mental attitude there") in Atlanta... it aint no big shakes, most of you have all ready done the trip, and to quote the sarge "Allright, sweethearts, you heard the man and you know the drill! Assholes and elbows!"

Lots of love

Fish (now getting back to paperwork at 5.30am! )

I'm not totally set on BA - I need to work out the times (arrival in particular) of the Delta flights: I think there might be advantages to it. Also, when the BA sale expires on the 24th, the Delta flights are likely to be considerablely cheaper in comparison.

The main disadvantage of the Delta flights is that people will almost definitely have to stay overnight at Gatwick - it departs at 9am as I recall. People will have trouble doing connecting flights from Scotland or Manchester etc without a layover.

I prefer LHR T5, and it's now the most reliable airport for baggage. BA also uses more modern aircraft, and the evening arrival time in Atlanta is good for jet lag. They're also a known quantity. For all these reasons, I'd prefer BA.

And yes, it's much easier for me personally to get to Heathrow than Gatwick. Although I didn't want that to be a reason to choose for the majority.

I will be booking my flight very soon and I'll post up which airline I'm going by.

 ... now what did I say to you last night!

Apart from the fact that it x1000 more convenient for you, tried and tested, your happy with, takes off and lands at the perfect time, does not have two warn propellers AND has a British flag on the side... you might fly BA????!!!!

Gareth will be flying BA everybody.

They are big boys and girls, they can look after themselves :D , well, most of them... god, it will be a disaster. I can see Vito ending up in Cuba :?

I'm done.

I'm conscious that I have skewed the vote by giving my own preference early. This was inappropriate and something I cannot take back. I might have caused the group to split over this. I apologise. Please ignore EVERYTHING I have said previously about the empirical or preferential reasons about which Airline.

SO, bearing in mind that the group is now likely to be split, I'd like people to once again vote their intentions to me PRIVATELY in a PM without reasons:

A) Delta from Gatwick for £469-£480 depending on website
B) BA from Heathrow for £525

I really have no preference. I'd rather fly alone from Krasnoyarsk if it meant a net reduction in bad feeling in the group. I don't care how you get there. Just be there.

Right, well.

For me to go to Manchester to Gatwick and then on to Atlanta. I would be missing you guys by an hour. As they are different flights. Already sorted this with G.

So i had two choices. Manchester straight to Atlanta with Delta. Or British Airways. Delta is £20 more than BA for me.

So, i will be flying from Heathrow as normal. And will not be joining the other group as i would not be flying with you guys as i would miss you by an hour.
