Apparently Ricco Ross said it would be Frost getting a figure!

NECA also tend to put convention exclusives up on their online store at the same time as the cons so those not in attendance can pick them up. I wouldn't be too worried.

It was him speaking at the LA Alien Day screening. Here's some info from one of the AvPG forum members:

"I attended the 30th anniversary screening of ALIENS in Los Angeles last night, where the special guests were Ricco Ross, Jenette Goldstein and Carrie Henn. All three of them, including Ricco, confirmed they had action figures in development, and had seen the prototypes from NECA. Jenette had said the primary reason it took so long to get a "Vasquez" figure is that there was a note attached to her information filed away at Fox stating that she would never allow her likeness to be used, which she claims she knew nothing about. This was apparently something Carrie Henn also had an issue with, saying she was totally happy with NECA's decision to go forward with a "Newt" figure."

Well Vaz looks amazing. I guess I need 3 of her.

Overall I LOVE that they are willing to branch out on their marine characters. If they are making someone who didn't survive the first confrontation, it gives a legit hope that they may make many others. I would never have imagined it was possible before. Very happy for Ricco too!


Of course the selfish side of me wishes they would make someone I didn't already scratch build/bash! I was really hoping Drake would be the 2nd marine. Guess my custom frost is off to the spare parts bin once a proper one is out!

Vazquez looks great in those pics and I am very happy at thought of Frosty joining my Aliens display (if Ricco says it's happening then that's good enough for me). Man if Neca had announced that reveal yesterday then it would have, at least for me, almost made up for the reebok fail. With the smartgun tooling already in place, it seems (hopefully) inevitable that a Drake figure will be made at some point (if the current crop of human characters sell well of course) .

Just when i told myself no more 7" figures! Gah!

I hope they do make it a little easier for the rest of us to get a Newt figure. These exclusives are just that - exclude everyone who cannot attend these conventions. Don't they realise they have fans in every corner of this planet?
