The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I just got the following email from Gary "Alien War(s)" Gillies... I know it's short notice [ Understatement of the year award voters - For Your Consideration ] but could be a good night out!

Quote:
Hi Steve,

We are arranging for the showing of "Aliens" on the big screen at the Odeon cinema at Braehead a week on Monday in the evening and we were wondering if you and the gang of marines would like to dress up in the costumes and help a bit with promotions etc also see the film of course, are you interested?
Hope to see you soon,
Gary.

Given the rarity of Drops up here, I'm up for it - Anyone else fancy it?

A week tomorrow.

Gary's gonna email me a schedule on Tuesday, apparently.
We don't need any bugs, BTW, just Marines. The plan is to have a bug in a containment room with strobes etc.
Probably health and safety concerns about low-visibility costumes or somesuch nonsense...

Pencil me in provisionaly.

I'm in Paisley, or thereabouts for the weekend preceeding this. So its just a shot "hop" to Scapey's.

The trouble is Fraz.
From what I know, he'll be at Section8 on the Sunday as my brother is taking him there.
Any chance Fraz can hitch a lift back to your gaff Scape?

I'll hop over from Paisley to your gaff when I'm done with my obligations. Of course, I can then take Fraz home.

But, if Fraz and Sixty will both be attending... I'll head back to pick em up first.

Thats not the way it works, sadly. One needs a signed sheet or its unauthorised.
I'm off as of today and have left instructions to e-mail my personal address ASAP.

I have Thursday, Friday and Monday off (coincidence) and applied for Tuesday as I had a feeling this would be a late night Monday thing, getting home in the wee small hours on Tuesday.

That sucks. If you don't get the day off because of this mistake you definitely need to let your boss know that they messed up and that they shouldn't do it again.

My opinions are very strong on management inefficiency issues like that. My favourite slogan is something an old friend had on his office door; "Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine". ;)

I like that :)

I have done all I can. I sent her an e-mail in the hopes she is in tomorrow or Friday, telling her to e-mail be the status quo.

I even asked a workmate to give her an elbow in the side to action it.

Here's hoping.

Do you mean tardy as in "late" or tardy as in "turtle"? ;)
